Equity

Equity is your balance plus or minus everything currently open. It is what the account is worth right now.

Equity is the number margin level is measured against, so it is the number that decides whether positions survive.

If an account carries bonus credit, equity can include it, and losing that credit lowers equity without a single trade closing.
