Symbol
A symbol is the broker's name for one tradable instrument, and the suffix on the end tells you which account type it belongs to.
The same gold can appear as plain XAUUSD at one broker and with a suffix at another, such as a dot, an m or the word micro on the end. The suffix usually marks a raw spread, micro or cent account.
Contract size, minimum lot and swap can all differ between two symbols that look almost identical. The symbol specification window is the place to check.
