Resistance

A price area where advances previously slowed, paused or reversed.

Resistance may be drawn around repeated highs or a former support area. Different readers can choose different boundaries, especially when reactions are spread across several prices.

Several visible advances ending in the same region may lead a chart reader to mark resistance there.

Resistance can break. The label records earlier reactions, not a future one. It is a description of previous reactions.
