Support

A price area where declines previously slowed, paused or reversed.

Traders mark support from visible reactions, repeated lows or former resistance. It is normally treated as an area rather than an exact price because transactions occur across a range.

If price repeatedly stops falling around the same area, a chart reader may label that area as support.

Support can fail. The label describes what price did before, not what it must do next. It says nothing about demand still waiting there.
