Retest
A later return toward a previously crossed or marked chart area.
The term is often used after a breakout when price revisits the old boundary. The area, allowed distance and confirming event should be stated rather than inferred after the fact.
After closing above a marked range high, price later trading back near that boundary may be described as a retest.
Not every return is a meaningful retest, and the earlier move does not have to resume after one.
